Prince George Golf Course, Disputanta, VA
Jimmy worked for C&P Telephone/AT&T for 38 years and for Dance's Sporting Goods for almost 20 years. He loved many outdoor activities including golfing, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association, Sussex Hunt Club, Neblett's Mill Hunting and Fishing Club and Oakland Baptist Church. With his jovial spirit and zest for life, Jimmy was blessed with many friends.
When he was diagnosed with dementia, the disease caused him to rely heavily on his wife, Leah, and other caregivers. She worked hard to maintain Jimmy's independence and kept him involved in activities like enjoying a round of golf with his friends, even when he was unable to play. These "rounds to remember" are part of the inspiration behind the fund's name. Jimmy and Leah decided together that they wanted to help other familied like thers affectd by dementia. When Jimmy passed away from dementia-related causes in 2018, Leah establised A Round to Remember Fund at John Randolph Foundation. In Leah's words: "We traveled a road neither of us imagined. I hope we can make a difference for other travelers."
