New Grant-Making Strategy

Since the summer of 2006 the Foundation's board and staff have been diligently working to become more focused, deliberate and accountable with our grant making efforts. On September 17, 2009 the board approved a significant revision of the Foundation's grant making strategy, which had been in effect since 1996.

The new strategy is comprised of streamlined application procedures, stricter adherence to court-mandated funding priorities and a much "greener" approach to the grant review process.

Effective for the 2010 spring grant cycle, all eligible nonprofit organizations that intend to submit a concept paper to the Foundation are required to attend a grant information session to learn about our revised grant making strategy and application guidelines.

Please note that any concept papers prepared under the previous guidelines (Revised 5/31/03) will neither be considered nor returned to the applicant.

The Foundation holds informational sessions for potential new applicants every month. The sessions will be held at the Foundation on specific Thursdays from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Please see the grant information sessions schedule and contact the Foundation to reserve a space for one representative of your organization to attend.
